Choices - I just started lessons - What kind of pick should I use?

The choice of a pick may seem a very small issue for an article that should be a "guitar lessons", but as a guitar teacher, I had many students ask me what kind of pick to use them. It seems that the lessons are a common problem in the first student with a guitar, so I decided to take a short article on how to choose the right one.

What is right for you

Guitar

While collecting some typically usedand certain types of games, I would like to point at the beginning that what you use to choose the most important to find the best on the touch, you are using. When I go through the kind of choices, I would say that type of game used to be primarily responsible, but these are rules. You can use any place for any type of music, is to decide what matters is that you feel the game with the type of pick six.

What is the difference between the picks?

The mainA feature that brings the different guitar is its strength. Thickness determines how to fold a pick when you strum or pick the guitar strings. Thin, medium and heavy, although there are more subtle variations, will be available in three thicknesses of principle. Thickness that he or she is more like, what determines what it used to get a guitar player. While some pick picks are available in forms other than traditional, I'll stick with the thicknessArticle.

Thin-favorites

thin taking, as the name suggests, are very thin. They bend very nice if you play a note or strum a deal with them. Many people who play popular music, such as where agreements are strumming up and down collecting almost as thin. People who play only single notes, like rock, metal, jazz guitarist, or many, who plays a lot of picks tend to stay away from that turn takes more subtle.

MediaPicks

Between thin and heavy guitar picks are medium in size. Medium, the curve has a bit 'when you play a note or chord, but not as much as a thin pick. Since I'm right, I recommend medium absorbs most of the students, the guitar lessons from me. Medium checked are used by many guitarists and are a good choice if you do a combination of strumming chords, playing single notes, as in rock and blues.

HeavyPicks

Takes are often heavy and not at all for the majority to bend when you hit a chord or play a note. This brings the best for players who do nothing but strumming a lot, but playing a lot of individual notes appropriate. Many use the player takes jazz and heavy metal because of the large amount of lead guitarists to do in these styles. Also, players tend to take heavy use to play chords in a less jingle-y folk-style as the players that use thin picks.

Again, theThe point I made at the beginning, the thing that is important, more than one pick is the choice, what he thinks is best for you. I'm just beginning with the guitar, but before the guidelines can help you get to play when the baseball stadium for the type of music that interests you. Picks are very cheap, so I recommend buying some of each thickness and see what feels best for you.
